November was a great month here at dive and Sea Tenerife. It was really great to welcome back some regular customers, who were pleased to try the new dives sites Las Eras and El Delfin.
The first Instructor Development course was run in conjunction with Dive Tenerife. This all ran really smoothly and we are looking forward to the next IDC in February.
Remember you can check out Melissa weekly blog for an update on what we have been doing here at dive and Sea.
Team Update
Congratulations to Alice for passing her Instructor Development Course. We are all really proud of how far Alice has come this year.
As you will all remember Alice joined us in January for her Divemaster Internship as an uncertified diver, she stayed with us for 13 weeks training and returned to work here with us at Dive and Sea in June. Alice has worked as a mentor to the Interns and then progressed to her Assistant Instructor course in August.
Now finally she has been able to complete her Instructor Development Course, and also obtain instructor Specialities.
We are all looking forward to Alice being able to teach courses and continue her diving education.
Joining Alice on her IDC was Lorcan, who did incredibly well on his Instructor course. Unlike Alice Lorcan had almost no preparation time for his IDC due to work commitments. Hard work and lots of study proved to us all that he will make an excellent Instructor. Congratulations we look forward to seeing you soon.
We have a new website specifically devoted to the professional diving courses that we have to offer here at Dive and Sea Tenerife please see http://www.scubadivinginstructor-idc.com/
Divemaster Updates
A huge Congratulations to Sam for passing his Divemaster Internship, Mr “Mary Poppins” Practically perfect in every way has worked really hard not just on his theory to achieve high scores on his Divemaster Exams but also on his stamina. Sam was able to lead a variety of dives which he thoroughly enjoyed as well as acting as a divemaster Mentor to the new Interns.
We were all sad to see Sam leave earlier last month. We would all like to wish Sam well for his future career and really hope that we will see him back again next year to complete his Assistant Instructor Course.
Well done to Lydia who passed her Divemaster Course at the end of the month. Now all Lydia has to work on is more study for her Additional specialities she would like to complete as well as her DSD leader. Lydia will stay on with us here at Dive and Sea until the end of December before returning home to spend New Year with her family.
Andreas, and Dennis have moved on at a great pace, they have already completed their DSD, PADI Open Water Course, PADI Advanced Open Water Course, Emergency First Response (EFR), PADI Rescue Diver Course and over 40 dives. They are now focusing on their Divemaster theory.
Moomin has been studying hard and has already managed to complete his EFR and rescue Diver course as well as lots of study for his Divemaster exams.
Anglea has been out for most of the month due to a bad fall, but has also managed to complete her Rescue Diver, and EFR. Hopefully she will be back soon to continue with her Divemaster Internship.

These fins have proved to be a massive hit this summer, with Interns, and Instructors alike. They have all found them to be extremely comfortable, light weight and they all found the 3 speed gear shift to be easy to use and effective.
Aqua Lung is excited to offer Slingshot. The Slingshot™ will make diving more comfortable, efficient and fun. Its innovations include Power Bands, Gear Shift and Mid-foot Flex Joint that all add up to provide a wonderful diving experience.
They feature pure silicone Power Bands are loaded with energy on the power stroke. They release their energy prior to the upstroke to provide an added boost of power . A 3-speed Gear Shift customises your speed to effort ratio to fit the specific conditions of your dive.
Dive Site review
Marina Sur
Shore dive site to the left side of the marina out to the reef gijaron Arrecife. A great dive with plenty of aquatic life to see. On the recent dives to this site there have been Moary Eels, Black, and Brown as well as Octopus, Cuttlefish.
A great easy dive for all certification levels, easy access from the shore with a short swim out before descending.
